WHAT'S HAPPENING...
My name is Ava, and I am a Life Scout from Troop 42 Quincy. For my Eagle Scout Service Project, I am working to raise awareness and collect fresh produce donations for Interfaith Social Services’ “Plant.Grow.Share” program. This program helps provide fresh, healthy food to families in our local community who rely on the food pantry.
On May 2, 2026 as part of my project members of Troop 42 will be distributing 600 seedlings to participants at Quincy's annual Cleaner Greener clean up day. Please consider donating to my project to help offset the costs of the planting supplies for the 600 seedlings.
Hello my name is Ella and I am a Life Scout from Troop 42 Quincy, MA currently working towards my Eagle Rank.
My project will consist of building pollinator environments in four areas around Quincy. Faxon Park, O’Hara Circle, Merrymount Park, and Sailor’s Home Cemetery. I plan installing 20 pollinator houses and planting flowers to increase pollinator activity within these parks.
When I started this project, I knew that I wanted to give back to the City of Quincy. After discussing with the Department of Natural resources about potential projects, the idea of of installing pollinator houses around the parks of Quincy came up. With this project, I hope to conserve the natural beauty of the City of Quincy’s parks. These pollinator houses will garner a wide range of pollinators like solitary bees, ladybugs, and butterflies. Increasing pollinator activity in these areas not only encourages a healthier environment, but it also beautifies the surrounding community. The pollinator houses and signage will also provide educational opportunities to the community on pollinators and the processes of pollination.
